We strive to exceed expectations and provide top-notch scaffolding solutions for every project coupled with excellent customer service.

David Stephenson

Managing Director

David is our MD and the business owner and has been part of the Bee Jays family his entire career. Following his father into the business, David is the beating heart of our organisation. Leading by example he sits and works alongside his team closely and is involved every aspect of Bee Jays. David has the ethos that no job is too big or too small and is passionate about delivering an excellent service to all our clients from the huge chemical plants we have serviced continuously for years, to a local homeowner making small scale alterations. He ensures Bee Jays and our employees are continually striving for excellence and that we can be proud that Bee Jays delivers results with every job we take on.

Sean Stephenson

Operations Manager

Sean is a pillar of the Bee Jay workforce, having been here for 27 years. Sean has worked his way through the ranks beginning his time as a yard labourer before becoming an Advanced Scaffolder and then moving into a supervisory role and is now our extremely capable Operations Manager. Sean is a very keen gardener and loves socialising. He also enjoys spending lots of quality time with his family which is lucky because Sean has managed to encourage lots of family members to join the Bee Jay team!

Lee Armitage

Contracts Manager

Lee has worked with Bee Jays for nearly a decade but has been in the Scaffolding industry for 25 years, bringing with him a wealth of experience. Lee began with us as a scaffolder, then moved into a supervisory role before becoming our contracts manager, running our dedicated team of supervisors. In his spare time Lee can be found playing golf, spending time with his family and supporting his beloved Leeds United. Better luck next season Leeds!

John Rush

Contracts Manager

John Rush has been with Bee Jay Scaffolding since its very beginnings. He manages the permanent on site team at our client Solenis, where we have been based for over 30 years. John is a very committed Leeds United fan and his club memorabilia in his office is something Elland Road HQ would be proud of. John has seen every change at Bee Jays over the years and has been a truly dedicated member of the team. He plans to see out his whole career with us at Bee Jays for which we are extremely grateful. You are a scaffolding legend Mr Rush!

Keely Hartley

Office Administrator

Starting out at the tender age of 16 after leaving school, Keely began working at Bee Jays answering the phones and she quickly became the go-to person for all things administrative; she is now our dedicated Office administrator. She’s probably seen it all in nearly 30 years, from fax machines to email inbox overload, and she’s still going strong with us! As dedicated as she has been to Bee Jays, Keely equally loves family time, dining out and spending time in her green house. We’d love to have you another 29 years Keely, you’ve been a star!

Janine Rawlins

Accounts Manager

Janine has been working here at Bee Jays for 6 years. Janine works in our accounts team which requires great attention to detail and concentration. To get away from all the number crunching Janine can be found most lunchtimes speeding along the canal for her daily run! As the six years have gone on she’s getting faster and faster and is hoping to complete her first marathon this year!

Rebecca Ridgeway

Payroll Administrator

Rebecca has been with Bee Jays since 2015 and she manages all aspects of payroll which makes Rebecca a central and very popular figure here at Bee Jays! Along with managing the finances Rebecca is also responsible for getting our men trained up and keeping them all in line! In her spare time, she can be found hiking up mountains, music events with friends, cooking up a storm in her kitchen and enjoying a few prosecco’s; life in balance.

Andy Renwick

Operations Coordinator

Andy has been with us for 18 years beginning his career with Bee Jays as a labourer and then a scaffolder before becoming our talented operations coordinator. Andy’s role is integral to the business and his skills in organising the logistics and distribution of manpower are admired company wide. Its an extremely busy role and Andy is kept on his toes all day long. This is probably why Andy laughed when asked what he does with his spare time! ‘Renners’, you are a highly valued member of the team here at Bee Jays.

Brian Harrower

Contracts Supervisor

Brian has been in scaffolding 20 years but with us here at Bee Jays for 4 and a half. He started off ‘on the tools’ but after an impressive temporary supervisory cover, his talents were spotted and he moved into a full-time contracts supervisory role. Outside of work, he’s a proud father to a 17-year-old son and a lovable English bulldog. He enjoys spending time with friends on holidays and weekends away, as well as cruising around in his colleague Sean’s car whenever the opportunity arises. We have a great vibe in Bee Jay HQ and Brian definitely ‘brings the laughs’ to the office!

Mick Wood

Senior Estimator

Mick has been with Bee Jays for 15 years and is our senior estimator. Prior to his long and illustrious career in Scaffolding Mick enjoyed some unusual job titles including Apprentice organ tuner. Mick is a highly valued team member and keeps spirits high at the Bee Jay HQ. If he hasn’t already told you, Mick once held the esteemed title of Under 15s Yorkshire Ten Pin Bowling Champion.

Andy Jackson

Contracts Supervisor

Andy Jackson, ‘Jacko’, is the friendly face of Bee Jay Scaffolding. He’s been in scaffolding man and boy, starting at just 16. He’s been with  us here at Bee Jays for his second stint nearly 11 years; it’s  always good to have great staff come back! Andy is in our team of very capable Contracts Supervisors looking after our scaffold gangs all over Yorkshire.

Andy is our gentle giant and when he’s not at work managing high pressured sites you can find him relaxing on the riverbank taking it nice and easy, coarse fishing. Theres nothing coarse about our Andy though and he is a very committed coach to his daughter’s rugby club!

Jason Milner

Contracts Supervisor

Jason has been with the team here at Bee Jays for 15 years! He began as one of our more experienced Scaffolder’s ‘second lad’ and like many of his colleagues had a steady rise to his role now as contracts supervisor. Jay is very dedicated in his role and is passionate about achieving success for the projects he works on, largely in new build developments. Jay is a great colleague here in Bee Jay HQ despite not being a morning person and being a self-confessed ‘tight Yorkshire man’. Don’t worry Jay, we still love you and you’re generous in other ways!

Andy Gray

Contracts Supervisor

Andy joined Bee Jays just under a year ago as a supervisor. Andy is from a military background which helps keep his team of scaffolders ship shape! In his spare time Andy enjoys boxing, rugby and spending time with his family. Andy loves music and is a keen concert goer. Are you a Swiftie by any chance Andy?

Stephen Duckworth

Contracts Supervisor

Stephen is one of our newer recruits having joined early 2024. We hope like most Bee Jay employees he spends at least a decade with us! Stephen brings many years of scaffolding experience and joins us as a Supervisor. Stephen loves golf and socialising and has settled in nicely here at Bee Jays and is already fondly referred to as Duckie.
